With the holidays approaching, major construction activities are slowing down but will pick back up on January 8th. During the day, workers will continue to improve the sidewalks and traffic control systems that will make Buckhead safer for pedestrians. The utility relocations have made significant progress and are almost finished. They are expected to be completed around mid-December. At night, work will continue on the storm water system. Once the system is complete, construction will begin on the water vault located in the Tower Place driveway and a new traffic island. In addition to the regularly scheduled officers that direct traffic at intersections, more officers with longer shifts will help with added holiday traffic on Peachtree at the entrance to Lenox Square.

The Peachtree Boulevard transformation is the major enhancement of a stretch of Peachtree Road in Buckhead into a more livable, walkable, bikable and drivable promenade. The transformation will allow Peachtree to live up to its reputation as Atlanta’s “signature street.” It will become a destination, not just a throughway.Information is available at the new Web site: http://www.peachtreeboulevard.com/.
