Phase II of the Peachtree Boulevard transformation is making visible progress. Aside from the moving of utilities and installation of storm drains, new retaining walls are going up, and the widening of Peachtree’s north side is beginning to take shape. One of the results will be the straightening of the Stratford Road “shift” that has confused southbound drivers for years.The Peachtree Boulevard transformation is the major enhancement of a stretch of Peachtree Road in Buckhead into a more livable, walkable, bikable and drivable promenade. The transformation will allow Peachtree to live up to its reputation as Atlanta’s “signature street.” It will become a destination, not just a throughway.
