Creators of the Peachtree Boulevard transformation set sights on Piedmont

After establishing the local model for creating a livable, walkable urban neighborhood, the Buckhead Community Improvement District is looking to transform a stretch of Piedmont.

From this week's Atlanta Business Chronicle:

The Buckhead Community Improvement District is looking at duplicating many of the streetscape improvements planned for Peachtree -- including tree-lined sidewalks and medians, traffic enhancements, bicycle lanes, pedestrian benches and new street lighting -- to a 1.5-mile section of Piedmont running from Powers Ferry and Roswell roads southeast to Pharr Road, a couple of blocks past its intersection with Peachtree.
