The most prominent feature of the Peachtree Boulevard transformation is becoming visible now. Crews are installing the landscaped median starting at the Buckhead MARTA station and moving south toward Piedmont. The median will help to establish Peachtree as a true boulevard, with improved safety and traffic flow. GDOT says such medians improve safety by 55% and reduce traffic delays by 30%. They also make the road more pedestrian friendly.
The Peachtree Boulevard transformation is the major enhancement of a stretch of Peachtree Road in Buckhead into a more livable, walkable, bikable and drivable promenade.
